WHAT IF I’VE HAD AN ABORTION? |
|
It is not uncommon
for women to suffer from depression and guilt after having an abortion. It’s called Post Abortion Syndrome in
medical circles. Many women have a hard time coming to grips with what has
happened after they’ve had an abortion. They struggle with the realization
that they have ended a life. The question is,
is there forgiveness after having an abortion? Thank God the answer is yes!
There is still hope. God cannot condone sin, but through the mercy of the
Lord Jesus Christ, he can forgive it. Second Corinthians 5:21 teaches that
Jesus Christ took our sin upon Himself on the cross. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Jesus Christ, God in
the flesh, the One who could not sin, became sin and took our punishment. Even better, there is no sin that His blood cannot cover. First
Corinthians 15:22 tells us that God’s grace can free all who are snared by
sin. “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” Futhermore, Romans 5:20
reminds us that grace is capable of going farther than sin could ever go. “Moreover
the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace
did much more abound.” It is true that abortion is a horrible thing. But, it is not true
that it is so horrible that God can’t or won’t love you. On the contrary, he
loves you very much. He longs for you to be saved. John 3:16 is probably the
most well-known verse in the Bible. I believe that this is because it is so
simple and yet so profound. “For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.” You and I are the reason that
God sent His Son to die. God loves us so much that he was willing to give His
precious Son to die a cruel death on a cross for us. This, despite the fact
that he knew us and all that we would do. Yes, God loves you. He can save you. He wants to save you. If this
were not so, he wouldn’t have given Jesus to pay for your sins. If you would
like to know more about being saved, read this article. If you’re still not
sure, or if you have more questions, please e-mail

that only God can give you. |
