Are you Bloodwashed? |

And
almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of
blood is no remission. Hebrews 9:22 |

Sin is a very
serious matter to God. God requires a strict punishment for sin. Romans 6:23a
tells us what this punishment is: “For the wages of sin is death.”
This death is not just a physical death; it is also a spiritual death.
Revelation 20:14-15 tells us this: “And death and hell were cast into the
lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written
in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. This leaves us with
a serious problem. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and come short
of the glory of God.” If all have sinned and the wages of sin is death,
then all are doomed to this death. If we die in our sins, then, we are doomed
to the lake of fire because the blood that the law requires is sinless blood.
If the blood being shed was not sinless, the one shedding the blood would be
facing the same punishment of death. Certainly, none of us are sinless in
light of Romans 3:23. It is clear from
these verses that we cannot save ourselves. Someone else would have shed
blood to save us. But who? If all have sinned who is left. Romans 5:12 tells
us this: “Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by
sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” That
“one man” is Adam. The One who would shed His blood for us must be someone
who did not receive that sin nature from Adam. Luke 1:27-35 tells
how this could be: “To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph,
of the house of David: and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in
unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with
thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at
his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with
God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and
shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of
the Highest: and the Lord shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there
shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I
know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost
shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:
therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called
the Son of God.” The One who would have sinless blood and could pay for
our sin would be the Son of God. His blood was sinless because it was God’s
blood. He was God in the flesh. He is the only one that has ever lived a
perfect life. He gave His life for us on a cross and shed His perfect blood
and took our punishment for us. John 3:16 tells us
about the wonderful gift God has given us in His Son: “For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Through Jesus Christ,
we can escape the eternal lake of fire. How can this be? It is because Christ
not only died and shed His blood, He also rose from the dead and conquered
sin. I Corinthians 15:3-4 tells us about this wonderful Gospel or “good
news:” “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,
how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he
was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the
scriptures.” Romans 10:9 says, “That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” We looked at the
first part of Romans 6:23 earlier, but let’s look at the full verse now: “For
the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord.” Without Christ, we are doomed to a devil’s hell, but
with Christ we can have forgiveness of sin, salvation from hell, and eternity
in heaven. Would you like to
have this gift? If so, you have but to take it. If you truly believe what you
have read, you can simply pray this prayer from your heart and it can be
yours. Know first, simply reciting or reading this prayer will not save you.
You must truly believe and mean it. You must be ready to turn from your sin. Dear
Lord, I
know I’m a sinner. I know there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I
believe that you love me and that you sent your Son to die for me. I believe
that He lived a sinless life and that He died for my sin. I ask you to
forgive me of my sin. I accept Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for me. Please
come into my heart and be my Saviour. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen. If
you have accepted Christ as your Saviour after reading this, please e-mail me. I’d like to rejoice with
you and help you in any way I can. Also,
feel free to e-mail
me if you have any more questions about salvation. I want to help you all I
can with this most important matter. |
